The PACER PLUS Project for the Implementation of the Pacific Trade & Customs Harmonisation Project was officially launched on 14th of November, 2019 in Honiara, Solomon Islands by the New Zealand High Commissioner to the Solomon Islands. Present during the launch were Heads of Customs and representatives from Nauru, Kiribati, Cook Islands, Tonga, Niue, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji, DFAT and MFAT.
The launch coincided with the annual ASMP Review whereby the existing ASMP member countries shared their experiences on the use of ASYCUDA World. The incoming countries got valuable insights and had the opportunity to ask questions on the challenges faced, capacity building programs and the Single Window project which Vanuatu is currently implementing.
The launch ended on a high note with countries embracing the initiative and looking forward to the completion of the project.
